Help Wanted

D2Hoops.net is seeking volunteers to improve and expand its coverage of Division II Men's Basketball.

News/Fact Gathering - Multiple Positions

We would love to have multiple volunteers to help us perform one or more of these tasks.  While we welcome someone who would love to engross himself or herself in the site and have it become part of their life as it has ours, we also welcome someone who only has the desire to update certain items.

These positions perform tasks including but not limited to:

-  Communicate with sports information directors.
-  Compile schedules.
-  Input schedules.
-  Update scores.
-  Stay abreast of schedule changes and happenings.
-  Update pictures and information regarding facilities.
-  Update links to team websites and online broadcasts.
-  Receive news alerts and input them into the database.
-  Search team websites and newspaper websites for stories.
-  Help keep front page updated and relevant.
-  Participate in podcasts.
 
The ideal candidates to join our team will care more about the message and the coverage that we try to provide than personal gain or promotion.  They understand that Division II requires one, unified voice in order to successfully promote the product and attract a big enough audience to make the delivery of information viable.

Conference Bloggers

I would also like to research the viability of having conference columnists like we do on D2Football.com.  If there is enough interest and enough qualified columnists apply, it is an avenue that we would like to pursue.

-  Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference

-  Peach Belt Conference
-  Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
-  Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
-  South Atlantic Conference
-  Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
-  Sunshine State Conference
-  West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

Because of the random nature of basketball schedules in addition to the fact that games can occur on any night of the week, it is up to the individual to know what days are best to update the conference blogs.  

Responsibilities Include:

-  Writing a blog twice a week, depending on the conference schedule.
-  Write the column in the format provided by D2Hoops.net.
-  Perform various other tasks beneficial to Division II Basketball and D2Hoops.net.

We will discuss the specifics of the columns in an interview via telephone.  Although writing and or media experience is helpful, it is not required.  Your knowledge and passion for D2 Basketball is more important.  We cannot teach you the history and inner workings of D2 and we cannot teach you to have a passion for this level of play.

In the past, people have volunteered because they believe in Division II and the mission of D2Hoops.net.  If that describes you, please consider volunteering.
